I wrote this track back in 2006 and to be honest I think the title seems a little cheesy now. I approached this track by writing the melody first and then looking for chords to really bring it out, which always leads to a much more structured and complete piece of music.
It is one of my longest pieces and I remember sweating over having to record the entire 6 minute piano part in one take, although I can't remember just why that was. I recall writing the whole thing on the piano too, despite being a guitar player. This was also the time when I only had the keyboard to supply drums so everything had to be synced up with careful presses of the 'drum fill' button. Seems pretty fiddly now that I can spend HOURS creating midi drums instead.
I'm pretty sure there were lyrics for this one but with the title being something as tacky as 'Angel' I think it's a good thing that I can't find them.
