Even though this was recorded in 2010 it still reigns as my favourite spontaneous solo. It was done in one take and I was actually looking for a melody line to create a song, but when I listened back I liked it so much I kept it as the full track. I wasn't overly pleased with the production but I did the best I could with what I knew at the time so I'm happy with it.
The rhythm is created from a basic repeating keyboard riff. I'm not a primarily a keyboard player so I sometimes use it to compose something outside of the usual guitar patterns. I expanded on it by adding in some guitar chords and broke it all up with that solo. It was eventually used as a soundtrack in an animation for my own tshirt designs (still available!).
