I worked in a musical instrument shop for about a year, and in doing so I got to meet lots of very inspirational and creative musicians. Just from seeing my colleagues playing guitar for the customers was enough to make me want to know more about the instrument and I was lucky enough to work with a guitar player (now with the Crown Top Kings - look them up!) who always had a new chord or clever lick to show us in the break between the customers.
All this had such an influence that one morning on my walk to the shop I found myself mentally composing a tune in my head! I'd never really done that before but by lunchtime and a lot of repetition I had almost written the whole thing in my mind. When closing time finally came around I rushed home to frantically scribble down all I could remember and I'm happy to say this is exactly as it appeared in my mind.
Look out for the piano solo and the following middle eight, I was really pleased with those.
Not sure why it's so jazzy though, I've never listened to a jazz album in my life. Maybe that's why I called it So Confused.

Just recently I have been going through my back catalogue of music that I wrote way back when I had just started playing and I'm surprised at just how much I wrote between 1999 and 2000. I'm trying to bring some of that back with an updated sound (originals were on tape!) but still keeping the feel of the music.
